What is the reason for a strike?

Flight disruptions are anticipated due to strikes by French employees at Vueling, a major Spanish low-cost airline, from May 8 to 12, primarily affecting Paris Orly but also other airports in France. This strike, backed by CGT and FO unions, highlights grievances over poor working conditions, such as mandatory shifts, inadequate rest periods, and non-standard contracts for French staff. Additionally, a strike at Air Austral, affecting flights between France and Réunion, is planned for May 10 to 15.

Travellers are advised to confirm disruptions with their airlines. Those affected may be eligible for compensation ranging from €250 to €600 per person.

When am I Eligible for Flight Strike Compensation from Vueling?

You are eligible for strike compensation if:

• You had a flight disrupted by a Vueling staff strike.

• Your flight was either delayed by 3 hours or more, or was canceled less than 14 days before it was due to depart.

• You had a confirmed flight reservation.

• The disruption occurred within the last 3 years.

• If you took a replacement flight, your new arrival time was significantly different to your original flight.

Airline staff strikes are strikes involving the employees of Vueling. That includes pilots, cabin crew, airline engineers, and other employees working directly for Vueling.
